I’m Dave, a UK based photographer and writer, specialising in long exposure street photography and content. Using a combination of motion blur, intentional camera movement and image stabilisation, I like to capture time and movement in everyday scenes.
I bought my first DSLR (a Canon T3i) after buying a telescope in 2020 and quickly decided I wanted to try and take photos of Galaxies and Nebula.
Due to the persistent clouds in the Northwest of England limiting how much time I could do astrophotography work, I started trying my hand at daytime photography in 2021, and soon after became hooked on street photography. The long exposures necessary for astrophotography felt like a natural transition into long exposure street photography.
I have been fascinated with the concept of time for as long as I can remember.
Time is mysterious, and for me, adding abstract and impressionist style elements to still photography deepens that mystery further, as it doesn’t always give you a complete picture; allowing your brain to fill in the blanks and draw its own conclusions.
Its dreamlike quality invites you in to see more, and that’s what I try to capture in my long exposure images.
